Our vision team has been meeting these last two months and I am excited to let you know that we're making very real progress towards our ultimate goal - total clarity on who God is making us into and how we intend to get there.

Since we know that all churches are called to glorify God and make disciples of Jesus, the kingdom concept really finishes the sentence by saying how we're uniquely called to do that as The Watershed.

Through a really powerful season of prayer and discernment, we just arrived at our 'kingdom concept' - the thing we thing God has called and equipped us to do better than 10,000 other churches.  We arrived at this kingdom concept based on prayerfully looking at three things . . . the needs of our community, the gifts and talents of the people God has already brought us, and the passion that drives our leadership.  We asked God to show us the overlap of these three elements and to give us words to describe that overlap.

Our next task is to take our kingdom concept and begin to see how that informs our mission as a church .  Once we have our missional mandate, we will bring our work to the partners at a Partnership meeting this summer to get your comments and ultimate approval before moving forward.

So we're not ready to share just yet, but that time is coming.  And when it does, don't worry . . . this won't be just another mantra on a wall somewhere.  We believe this vision work will effect everything we do -  from the ministries we pursue to the architect we hire for our master plan and so much more!  So stay tuned for more info and please pray for our vision team . . . we want God's vision for our church, not just some cool-sounding concepts for the web-site!  See you Sunday!
